How many flashcards are in the 2025 citizenship test deck?+

The 2025 USCIS civics test deck contains all 128 official questions and answers. During your naturalization interview, an officer asks up to 20 of these questions. You must answer at least 12 correctly to pass.

How many flashcards are in the 2008 (legacy) citizenship test deck?+

The 2008 legacy deck contains all 100 official USCIS civics questions. The officer asks up to 10 questions during the interview, and you must answer at least 6 correctly to pass.

What is the 65/20 senior exemption?+

If you are 65 years or older and have been a lawful permanent resident for 20 or more years, you only need to study the questions marked with an asterisk (*). The officer asks you only 10 of these questions, and you must answer 6 correctly to pass.

Which version of the civics test should I study for?+

Check your N-400 filing date. Applications filed on or after October 20, 2025 use the 2025 version with 128 questions. Earlier applications may use the 2008 version with 100 questions. When in doubt, study both β€” this site includes both full decks.
